Israel and Iran have reportedly reached a ceasefire following 12 days of intense airstrikes and missile exchanges, including a final barrage from Tehran.

On Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel would accept the truce proposal put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump late Monday. Shortly before this announcement, Iranian state television confirmed that the ceasefire had commenced.

Netanyahu’s statement came shortly after Trump’s social media update, which indicated that the ceasefire was in effect.
